Sphere: Related Content

From reliable sources close to Apple Inc., it is learned that Apple is going to launch iPod touch with bigger screen in Fall'09. The screen size would be approximately 7 or 9 inch screen.
But no information on princing so far. The current iPod touch, with a 3.5 inch screen, starts at $229. The 32 GB model is $399. It is expected the price on the larger iPod touch to be significantly higher.
As per my knowlegde Apple is posed to create sucess story for iPod-touch just like iPod. All of you know that now WalMart is also started selling iPhone.
Blogspace is skeptical about this news as many of us would believe this as a romour. But let's see.

Continuing Trouble for World Auto Industry: Toyota Expects Its First Loss in 70 Years and Bailout Package for Jaguar Land Rover,

Sphere: Related Content

After $17.4 billion bailout package for US auto-giants GM, Chrysler, now another bailout package on the way for Jaguar Land Rover.
Tata bought British-based luxury car maker JLR earlier this week. At that time itself JLR was in poor financial health. Now it has become worsen. British Business Secretary Lord Mandelson is under pressure to come up with a similar package for UK manufacturers like Washington did for US counterparts. But Lord Mandelson has added that the Govt. is not a charity for bailing out the ailing companies but surely can help to overcome present financial challenges.
According to the Financial Times, accountancy firm KPMG and investment bank NM Rothschild have been called in to advise the UK government on the Indian group's complex finances and to assess demands from the car sector.
Meanwhile Tata has agreed to inject "Tens of Millions" of pound into British car company to prevent present cash-crisis.

Story is still not over. On the other part of the World, Japan's biggest auto-maker Toyota has slashed its projection on the profit booking. Let's put it straight, Toyota warns about loss first ever in 70 years. Toyota has rock-solid track record of profit-booking even in hard time. But this auto-giant, who is fighting neck-to-neck with GM for biggest car-maker title of the world, is freezing all its expansion plans, suspending executive bonuses and reviewing its dividend payout. Still few months ago, the company had been expecting a eighth consecutive year of profit, is suffering from plunging vehicle sales not only in North America but also in China and India, which many had believed would prove immune to US economic slowdown.

All this events are only underscoring how grave the financial crisis is.

Buzz of the time: What If Steve Jobs quits Apple ??

Sphere: Related Content

Will Apple participate in coming Macworld event? Will Steve Jobs be present in the MacWorld? Will Apple be able to keep the show alive even if Mr. Steve Jobs quits Apple? Blog world is much worried about Jobs's health as well as Apple's future health since last few days.
Most of us believe that Apple and Steve Jobs are synonymous. We simply could not think of Apple without Steve. So does the world market. Apple losses $6.6 billion in 2 hours. Apple is still continuing creating magic under great leadership of Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs has given a new life to Apple. Apple has grown into a global and house-hold brand. It has changed the concepts of entertainment business and on-line music industry. It has out-performed Microsoft in many aspects. It believes in innovation and creativity like Google does. We simply believe all have been possible only under corporate leadership of farsighted Mr. Steve Jobs.
If we believe in Mr. Steve Jobs's all-round ability, we should have faith in other 32,000 Apple employees. One company simply does not do great simply because of a person. With full respect to Mr. Steve Jobs, I would like to reiterate that a company is combined effort and it does great with the efforts of each individual. Moreover I believe if at all he quits Apple, he has already done his homework to make his successor who could keep the show on.
I believe in Apple and Mr. Steve Job's leaderships and value, what he has infused in Apple during his tenure.

Google turns 180 on Net Neutrality Issue

Sphere: Related Content      As a response to the Wall Street Journal's news about fast track in the Web, Google has tossed its stance and cleares that still it advocates the policy of network neutrality. Their proposed plan, known as OpenEdge, is all about putting caching servers within each provider’s network allowing near immediate access to Google content.
But this is also contrary to the Google’s earlier internet neutrality stance and opens the door for an internet where influential companies get fast access by using the financial power and everyone else gets slower access. Though Google makes it loud and clear this arrangement does not violate any clause of net neutrality. Though We can find much opponents and proponents on the edge caching concept of Google and whether it is an exploitation of the net neutrality concept. But one thing everyone would agree that placing the edge-caching server does enhance the user experience on about Google's content download and application. Basically Google has used its financial clout to get preferential treatment from the ISPs in whatever form it may be, as mentioned by WSJ.
Anyways, should we believe that Internet is still free and open to all ?? I hope so.

Please Don't divide Internet: Google asking for preference in Internet

Sphere: Related Content      As per Wall Street Journal Google is looking for allies in the service providers for fast track for its own data and contents. Till now Google is strong advocate of the network equality. Even Mr. Barrack Obama is strong proponent of Network Equality. The recent news about preferential treatment of service providers to the big internet giants like Google is a test of commitment of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama made it clear a that "The Internet is perhaps the most open network in history, and we have to keep it that way". He told Google employees in Google campus "I will take a back seat to no one in my commitment to network neutrality". But slowly the once proponents of network equality are softening their stands on the issue. Like Stanford's Mr. Lessig, who advises Mr. Obama on technology. He is telling there are valid reasons to prioritize the network distribution. He advocates that same treatment of service can not be extended to a greeting card sent to grandma compared to a over-night letter to the lawyer. But Mr. Obama once told "if providers start to give privilege to some Web sites and applications over others, then the smaller voices get squeezed out," he told Google employees a year ago when he campaigned at the company. "And then we all lose." But it is a tough call for Mr. Obama as Mr Eric Schmidt, Google's chief executive officer remains a active supporter and an adviser during the presidential campaign and transition.
But Google is not only the first in the bandwagon of the Internet Giants who is approaching major cable operators or service providers with a proposal to create a fast track for its own data and traffic. Microsoft, Yahoo!, Amazon, once supporters of network neutrality, have made their position clear recently. Microsoft has clearly mentioned the policy of neutrality, they are no longer interested in. Microsoft has a deal to provide software for AT&T's Internet television service.Amazon's popular digital-reading device, called the Kindle, offers a dedicated, faster download service, an arrangement Amazon has with Sprint. So much before the Google asked for preferential service, other giants had already started eating the pie.
Presently when we are interested in the free software and advocating the free internet sphere, where every player will have the equal opportunity to survive, this news is going to shatter many a dream. Small internet players who really love to share and discuss their views over internet won't get anyway to survive as the this internet won't be free world and traffic shaping will be in the hand of service provider. Which site to show and which not to, will be in the dictate of the service provider. It is won't be based on the page ranking or popularity it will be based on how much you have paid.
Let the internet be merit-based , knowledge-based, popularity-based not money-based.

This is a Farewell ...You Dog !!!: Iraqi throws Shoes to US Prez Mr. Bush

Sphere: Related Content

On his Farewell visit to Iraq, Uncle Sam faced a incident that he will never forget till his last breath. One guy, identified as Muntadhar al-Zaidi, an Iraqi journalist with Egypt-based al-Baghdadia television network, threw shoes at Mr. Bush at a news conference, in Baghad. At the same time the guy was yelling in arabic "This is a Farewell ...You Dog !!!". While security personnel pinned him on the floor he screamed "You killed Iraqis". But fortunately Mr. Bush ditched all the attempts of the Shoe thrower. Though Mr. Bush was pledging the Iraqis to realize the blessing of the free world what US had gifted to Iraq, this incident is really a matter of shame for the US and its ever-controversial Iraq war. This time all the suppressed sorrows, grievances had turned into action. Let's see what is stored for uncle Sam in Afghanistan.

iPhone in Retail Shop : Wal-Mart @ $99

Sphere: Related Content
Since mid-November Cyberspace has been buzzing with rumor that retail giant Wall-mart will sell iPhone. The news was confirmed when "Boy Genius Report" published that Wal-Mart could start selling iPhone from 28th December. At first time Wal-Mart would sell 4-gigabyte version of the iPhone for the as low as $99. Presently Apple is only selling 8 gig and 16-gig model.
On last Thursday, four Research analysts published a report stating that they called about 20 Wal-Mart stores and the most of them confirmed that they would sell iPhone but timing and pricing were uncertain.
Currently Apple is selling iPhone only through AT&T outlets and BestBuy. So if they start selling the same through Wal-Mart it would definitely boost the sale. But according to industry insiders the amount certainly won't be $99 because Wal-Mart also needs to have profit margin.
If Apple really can sale a scale-down version like 4 gig iPhone for less price, it only make sense to sell through Wal-Mart, if company's goal is to capture the more consumer base just like success story of iPod.

Now Official: Mumbai Suspects are Pakistanis

Sphere: Related Content

Now it is official that Mumbai terror strike had been planned in Pakistan soil. Though Islamabad is still denying this fact by saying terrorists are "Stateless actors". But India's Foreign Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has put it very nicely. He said that those terrorists had not come from heaven or other planet. Pakistan accused India for not providing any proof to them about those terrorists. India told they had provided the proof but Pakistan is not ready to take any action. Apart from India, pressure from other nations across the world is mounting on Pakistan. Everyone is skeptical about Pakistan's intention to curb the terrorism in their soil. Because Pakistani army is controlled by ISI, which influenced by Taliban and other Islamic extremist organizations like LeT, JeM etc etc. Those organizations are even largely funded by ISI. If Mr. Zardari takes any action against those organizations, the chance of any military coup can not be ruled out. So Mr. Zardari is also scared of taking any drastic step.
Meanwhile UN security council has banned Jamaat-Ul-Dawa, a charity organization for the plausible link with Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT). During investigation Mumbai Police has come up with another clinching evidence. Mumbai crime branch chief joint commissioner Mr. Rakesh Maria has officially confirmed that Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist captured alive after the attacks, has written to the Pakistan High Commission seeking legal help to defend him. Maria says that in a three-page letter scripted in Urdu, Mohammad Ajmal has admitted to being a indeed Pakistani National and is seeking legal help from Pakistani Government. Among his others pleas is a request to Pakistan Government to accept the body of his fellow terrorist- Ismail Khan and to offer him a decent last rite in Pakistani soil. He reportedly accepts his role in the 26/11 attacks as a part of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba . This letter is to be delivered to the commision's office, New Delhi, possibly Monday.
This is a another new evidence to the pile of proof. Now it is a real tough job for Pakistan to deny that indeed the terror plan had been orchestrated in their own soil.
But Pakistan could claim that letter Ajmal Kasab wrote under pressure of Indian investigation Team and thus they could make him a really a "Stateless Terrorist".
But As an Indian I should say "Enough is Enough". We don't want to any kind of news of house arrest or detention of heads of terrorist organization. These are all eye-wash. Because after Kargil War they did the same thing and released all the captivated terrorists after 3 months when the dust settled down. We demand concrete action from Govt. of India not from Pakistan.

Mr. Obama looking for house in Washington !!!

Getting a house is a real tough job for anyone. Mr. Obama is no exception. Mr. Obama, The President-Elect of US, has been denied from early check-in in the Blair House, the official guest residence across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House. Mr. Obama had requested for the early check-in in the Blair House so that his daughters could start school in time. But present officials of White House turned down the request as Blair House had been already occupied and booked to official gathering and receptions for the outgoing officials of Bush regime.
As per the spokeswoman for the first lady, Laura Bush, it would be made available to Mr. Obama's family on 15th of January as per protocol. They have denied any news related to outranking Mr.Obama. So Obamas are looking of other housing option so that their daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, can start school at Sidwell Friends in Washington on time after the holiday break.

Mr. Madoff's Security Firm's Billion Dollar Fraud : Wall Street Rocks Again

Sphere: Related Content

$50 billion fraud rocks the wall street. But this $50 billion is a rough estimate. No one knows how much deep is the problem. It is yet another blow to the spiraling economic slowdown. The figure $50 billion looks like a plausible figure. Courtesy to Mr. Bernard L. Madoff. Everyone is surprised how this guy worked his magic for decades. But some guys claim they already questioned Mr. Madoff for his nonparallel skill of steady returns, his vague investment strategy and the accounting firms that audited his balance sheets. Now tens of thousands of investors ranging from a gray-haired grandmother to a charity, some families believe to have lost all their savings. The effect of this scam is from serious to surprising. Some investor said the returns were just amazing. Mr. Madoff promised of realistic return of 10 per cent a year - which was unrealistically steady. They trusted this guy for decades because whenever they wanted money back they always got their check in a few days. Nonetheless, Madoff was a former NASDAQ chairman.
Mr. Madoff’s security firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, ran a scheme, a type of massive fraud in which earlier investors are paid off with money raised from later victims. This scheme ran until no money can be raised from this economic turmoil and the scheme collapses. End of each quarter, Mr. Madoff's stock holding, which he disclosed with security and exchange commission, appeared to be very small to support the size of the fund he claimed to hold. But some this discrepancies were explained by the promoters of Mr. Madoff holding as a strategy of the Mr. Madoff of selling all the securities and keeping the cash.
According to civil and criminal complaints, Madoff confessed he had been cheating since decades, and he estimated his total losses from the fraud may have been $50 billion.
Now federal authorities took over the control of his firm and started probing on the case.

Last week Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) had issued 100 million dollar notes. But those notes failed to reduce the long queue for cash. So Friday RBZ will circulate 200 million dollar Notes along with 500 million dollar notes.

Shy and quiet Amar lived a mundane run of the mill life. His existence was non-existent to people around him. His innocence and his obsession for making his daily TO-DO LIST every morning is what motivates him to look forward to the next day. Then one day a doctor told him that, he will die within 3 months. And then begins a journey of a lifetime for Amar, where he sets out to write his FINAL LIST. The List of 10 things to do before he dies, the List that would make his life worthy, before it actually ends. As the countdown begins, does Amar Kaul succeed in fulfilling the final tasks to do on his wish list ... and in the course of doing them, realized than he has been dead all along until now. Amar is symbolic of all those people who have always wanted to do things but kept them on hold."

Row of Resignation !!!

Sphere: Related Content First Mr. Shivraj Patil (Union Home Minister), second is Mr. R.R. Patil (Home Minister and Dy. CM , Maharashtra) and then Mr. Vilas Rao Deshmukh (CM, Maharahtra). All have resigned from the post beacuse their conscience told them to do so. I am suprised about their conscience. Their conscience did not wake up till the number of death toll reached few thousand since last few years. Great conscience, Great politicians of India. Let's see the drama. How many politicians are in the row. The only qualification for getting a portfolio in the UPA led Govt. is how much one is close to 10 Janapath, needless to say that's the House of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Hope she also has conscience but the problem she cannot resign from any post, because she does not hold any such portfolio. She is always in safe place. She is holding all the power but no responsibility. Hey Guys
this is really funny. Mrs. Gandhi, changing few ministers here and there won't help us, please take some action or leave the post of UPA-chairperson, atleast I hope you can do that, oops sorry, I think you cann't. That is private property of Gandhi clan.

Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye

Sphere: Related Content Oye Lucky, lucky oye is yet another "Gem" from Director Dibakar's factory. His earlier movie, "Khosla Ka Goshla" was shot completely on a Delhi Middle class's point of view. In that movie all the frame was described in the way a middle class solves the problem. But "Oye lucky, lucky Oye" is completely in the way a Thief sees the life, leads the life, does whatever it takes to fulfill his dreams. And here is the beauty of the movie. From his childhood, he dreams of the life like other english-medium guys have. Director depicts all the small and hidden wishes of teen-ager Lucky very well. His encouter with father on buying of a two-wheeler is really funny. The movie's backdrop in Delhi. The grown-up lucky is played by Abhay Deol. Abhay has really improved a lot in his acting department. He carries the movie very efficiently. His childhood friend "Bangali" is really good. Few good one-liners are delivered by this guy. Director has really given importance to the detailing of the movie like young Lucky does wear the turban while the teen-ager Lucky did not. The reason could be the character of the thief should notbe bound to any particular identity, rather it does not have any identity. Again the father of Lucky, the Goga bhai (God-father of lucky) and Dr. Chaddha , all the character are played by Paresh Rawal very efficiently. The reason for using Paresh Rawal for all the roles could be that all the bad guys are basically same. The scripts is well written. The back-ground score is worth of mentioning.

I believe this movie is good to watch. I am going 3 out 5 for Dibakar's "Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye".

Mumbai Terror Attack: We are resilient by force, not by choice

Sphere: Related Content For last few days, I was thinking about to share my view about very recent Mumbai terror attack. By I was bit reluctant to write. I have been thinking there are so many people around the world has expressed their anger, frustration, agony, worry about this incident. If I don't express then who cares? But it is very much true that I am equally angry and frustrated whatever happened to Mumbai. So finally I am writing.

First of all I feel like slapping our home minister Mr. Shivraj Patil. This person has not taken any security measures at all after strings of terror attacks in India. There were attackes in Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Malegaon, Jaipur, Bangalore. This good for nothing person always given assurance but no action at all. He would tell us to remain united in terror. But as a Home minster he did not take any proper action to stop, if not possible at least minimize, the terror attack in India. The only reason he survived on his post is he is undoubtedly the greatest loyalist of 10, Janapath ever had. Whenever there is any terror attack, all UPA ministers will come together and give statement to rescue Mr. Patil saying that it is not right to blame the minister alone it is the fault of the system. Here my question is these politicians are not contributing any thing to India, we are paying tax and getting salaries, benefits etc. They have been assigned to pubic service and elected by us. So it is their responsibility to protect the national interest and integrity. If they are not blamed for situation, who else to be blamed. Now Mr. Patil has resigned from his post. I would stay it is too little and too late. If UPA think that this way they can appease public outrage they are simply making mistake. Resignation of few ministers can not gain any kind of support for UPA. We want more action.

Our politicians are always ready to play any dirty game for vote bank. They can go to any extent to get a vote whether it is at cost of national security or pride and they know every trick to manipulate our judiciary system. They can do anything to woo any community to grab vote. UPA Govt is about to finish its term but they could not decide the fate of Afzal Guru, the prime accused in the Paliament attack. The reason is clear they do not want to hurt minority sentiment. These terrorist will kill innocent people without any reason but when court will order capital punishment for them, their wives and kids will try seek pardon from President with teary eyes and posing with the media in one hand and human rights activist on the other hand. All the useless NGOs and human rights activists will bring out rally with pictures of teary kids on the road supporting the terrorist's pardon plea. My question is where were all the activists when these terrorists killed all the innocents and made thousands of orphans?

If all the politicians believe that terrorists don't have any color, any religion, then who is stopping them from hanging those terrorists like Afzal Guru without any delay. Why are they playing dirty vote-bank politics over terrorism?

The reason is very much clear. They know even we also know that public memory is very short. We will get used to the situation very quickly. If any terror attack happens anywhere in India we will shuffle all news channels and will update ourselves with all the breaking news till the situation comes under control. It is like a daily sop serial to us which is only for few hours or few days on 24X7 basis. After that we will thank God that we have survived again in the terror attack and we will resume our day-to-day activity with same spirit as if nothing had happened or whatever had happened that is only matter of discussion not for any action. We will then start criticizing Govt. for not doing anything .News channel will allocate few time slots about the investigation proceeding of the incident. After few days other incidents or any breaking news will happen, we will forget the old one. Slowly it will wipe out from our memory and life will continue like same way. One thing is sure whenever we tell about spirit of Indians like we forget everything very easily, we are very resilient basically we common Indians do not have any choice because if we don't go out for work our family won't get any food for that day. So we are always forced to forget everything , anything whether that is good or evil.

Now those politicians or so called leaders are taking the advantage of helplessness of the common man. But now the time has come. We the Indians demand Actions, No words. Enough is enough.

These terrorists big questions mark on our sovereignty, national integrity and national security. We really need to show these guys that what we can do and to what extent we can go protect our country.
